No7 Skin Illuminator in 'Peach'

£11.00 (£6.00 with £5.00 off voucher)
I'm addicted to highlighters! (And No7 £5 vouchers :P !) So when I was browsing the No7 stand I seen this 'Skin Illuminator' it looked so pretty and I wanted it straight away!
The No7 Skin Illuminator comes in two shades, Peach and Pink, I bought peach as I felt it would look nicer with my skintone. These Illuminators are very comparable with Benefits High Beam (Pink) and Moon Beam (Peach) in colour. However you get much more product in the No7 Skin Illuminator.
The product comes with a brush connected to it. This is something I'm not keen on but I just put the product on the back of my hand and apply with my fingers anyway so really the brush isn't and issue.
Another plus about this product is it is in a squeezy tube, making it easy for you to use all the product (Unlike powders which often shatter and other liquid highlighters in bottles like Benefits that have product where the brush can't reach) and the on/off top so you can carry the product around without fear of it getting everywhere.

I use this Illuminator in a couple of different ways. The main one it in a C shape from under my eyebrow down the are of my cheek I want to highlight. The second is on the rare occasion I wear foundation I mix a little in to give that 'dewy' look as my skin is dry and never really rocks that naturally! It subtle enough for day and night wear.
A further pro about this product is that it photographs BEAUTIFULLY! Normally my highlighters pick up too much with flash (highlighter from Sleeks Contour Kit I'm looking at you bud) or they don't pick up at all. This brings out my cheekbones and complements my (fake) tan, I cannot recommend this enough!!!

MUA Lip Gloss Tubes Review.

Hi Hunnies!

I am a MASSIVE MUA fan, there is no denying it! They're £1 range out does the majority of it's high street/drug store counterparts in my opinion and this gloss is definitely one of those amazing out doers!

Firstly, I've gotta mention the price and quality. £1! For one pound I would expect the gloss to be plastic tasting, incredibly sticky and just crap to be honest. However these glosses are none of the above. They have a really pleasant scent and don't really have a taste and aren't sticky. I genuinely feel these lip glosses are just as good (if not better) than the other lip glosses of their kind that you'll find, for more money, in the high street isles! Long lasting wise I'd say they are average. The only lip glosses I've ever really deemed 'long lasting' are Stila's Lip Glazes but these stay on just the same as Revlon etc.

Secondly it the shades and shimmer/glitter. There is around 5 shades - not the greatest selection but these glosses are more about the shimmer/glitter. The two I have, shades 4 and 5, are both absolutely beautiful! Shade 4 has a lot of gold shimmer going through, perfect for a bronzed look and shade 5 has amazing large chunks of glitter in a pinky gloss.

Small Haul

Hi hunnies!
Just a small haul for you today from Boots and Superdrug.

First is a new cleanser as my current one is running out. I love No7 skincare but this is the first thing I've bought from their newer 'Beautiful Skin' line. This line has a really large selection but I decided on this Cleansing Balm.

£9.00 - Boots

Next is another bottle of my favorite gradual tanner, Dove, in the normal to dark skin. I adore this gradual tanner. It smells great and the tan is lush. I'm picking one up nearly every time I'm near a Boots just now as they are half price.
£2.84 (half price from £5.69) - Boots.

Revlon ColorsBurst Lip Gloss in 'Bellini'. Apparently this is a new shade. I've fancied buying a ColorBurst Lip Gloss for a while now and I finally decided to go for it. This gloss is really nice however it has a weird smokey smell if you sniff the applicator, luckily it doesn't smell like anything on the lips!
£7.99 - Superdrug

For quite a while I've wanted a matte topcoat and I was totally unaware Rimmel did one so I definitely had to treat myself to this, it's amazing! I'm having so much fun making all my nail polishes matte, it's really quite sad!
£4.59 - Superdrug

Finally I got a back up of my current favorite lip balm - Nivea's Pure & Natural Milk & Honey Lip Care. I originally only bought the first one because I'm a lip balm hoarder and it was only 95p introductory price but out of my whole lip balm collection this may be the most moisturising. It has an interesting scent - like royal jelly honey type products but much nicer and softer. Adore it!
£1.99 - Superdrug

How I tidy up my used lashes for re-use! A little on the pic heavy side!

Hi hunnies! Okay, first you need to get your used lashes, their case, a eyelash/brow brush and a pair of tweezers.
 First brush the lashes through.
I hold them like this and use both the eyelash brush and the eyebrow side. This will remove mascara and get the lashes back into their natural position.
I don't know if your able to see the difference but they are a lot cleaner looking
Next is to remove that icky glue!
How to hold the lash, they need to be supported. The way I'm holding it in the above picture would allow me to remove the very end bit of glue. It's important that you support the lash for two reasons, first is so they don't move around when your pulling the glue off which can result in the band getting messed up and secondly is it allows you to feel if you are tugging on the band rather than the glue.
Apologies, this was difficult to picture so imagine the last two images together. Using tweezers pull at the glue. You should pull at the areas of glue that stick out first. It's important you don't pull the actual band of the lashes as these are unbelievably flimsy (held primarily by one string) and it's easy to pull that string out and ruin the lashes.
Voila! Tidy lashes! You can use alcohol (cleaning kind ;D) on a cotton swab to sanitize the lashes but be careful not to get the lashes to wet as this makes them sit messy.
Pop them back in their case so they keep their shape.
And then back in their box, ready to be worn again :D.

Glossybox June 2012

I received my Glossybox for June 2012 yayy! I love getting my Glossybox, full of items I may not have tried otherwise as my city isn't exactly full of shops with a range of beauty brands.
I imagine most people have heard about at least one beauty boxes but Glossybox is the only one I am subscribed to. Glossybox costs £10 plus £2.95 p&p.
This month is supposed to be geared towards summer style including minitures that are easy to take with you on your travels.

This month I got:
Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick
This is a starter kit that contains 6 sample shades. The Dermablend foundation supposedly has a higher coverage than a normal foundation and is primarily geared towards people with issues like dark circles, blemishes and irregular pigmentation. I'm quite looking forward to trying this as come summer time my freckles multiply and on my left cheek they join to close and look like a dirty mark on my face! The samples come in a plastic tray sealed with foil just like tablets. Full size(12g) costs £19 so this sample (6g) is technically worth £9.50!

Glossybox says 'Vichy's expert camouflage foundation stick for minor to severe skin flaws.'

Caudalie Eaux Fraiches (pink one):
Smells divine! A lot of people dislike the small testers of perfume that come in Glossybox which is understandable but this is a fifth of the full size which isn't all that bad. Lovely! It's a fresh scent, not really floral or oriental which are my normal perfume favs but I can see myself using this a lot! Full size costs £26 so this sample is worth £5.20.

Glossybox says 'Refresh your senses with these invigorating and energising fragrances.'

BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer:
Surprisingly I don't own any loose or mineral bronzers even though I'm a bronze addict. I could do with this being a couple shades darker and I'm about a NW25. It's also shimmery which I know people won't be crazy about but I'm still pleased with this product. Full size (4g) costs £8 so this sample (1g) is worth £2.

Glossybox says 'Multi-purpose pure-mineral bronzer. Add a touch of summer warmth to your face.'

MeMeMe Nail Gloss in Sensuous:
MeMeMe nail polishes are something I've never tried so this is a nice item. The shade is 'Sensuous' and is a peach toned nude without any shimmer or glitter. Full size (12ml) £4.50 so this sample is worth nearly £1.90.

Glossybox says 'A 5ml high shine Nail Gloss in this season's key catwalk peach shade.'

Glossybox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush:
Currently I am going through a make up brush kit and this one seems nice. I use synthetic brushes normally but I'm willing to try out this goats hair one. It's very soft and the handle is a medium length. RRP £15.

GlossyBox says 'This classic series natural goat hair blush brush gives a super soft make-up application'.

Isn't the most exciting box I've had but I'm still really happy with it! Total box worth: £33.60

Sleek Pout Polish Collection/Swatch

  1. Bare Minimum. A beautiful (pink toned) nude, almost looks like concealer in the tub but is fairly sheer on application.
  2. Sugar May (Limited Edition but included as it is very similar to a shade in the permanent range called Peach Perfection). Light peach shade.
  3. Raspberry Rhapsody. Beautiful purple/blue pink.
  4. Electro Peach. Appears pink but is a bright coral.
  5. Perfect Plum. Amazing plummy/red burgundy colour (my favorite!).

I LOVE these tinted lip conditioners by Sleek! They have a plethora of lovely oils (jojoba, avocado & sweet almond) to add moisture to the lips and I do find them incredibly moisturising. At the moment there are 11 shades in the collection and I'll definitely be adding to mines! The next purchase will be Peach Perfection and I stupidly put my Limited Edition Sugar May through the washing machine and tumble dryer so it's went a bit funny in the smell and consistency department... boo!
These have a sweet yet slightly plasticy scent to them. The scent/taste doesn't bother me personally but I'm aware some people really do dislike it.

They cost only £4.30 for a large amount of product, I definitely recommend them!

Nails of the...night?

Please excuse my manky painting skills(and crappy phone pic)...it's late! This is Barry M's Nail Paint in Indigo (£2.99) and Technics nail varnish in Carnival(£0.99). Cheap, cheap, cheap!
Currently also using Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, Barry M Nail Paint 3 in 1 in Clear (nearly out, I've ordered Nicole by OPI Base Coat. Anyone tried it or recommendations for a good base coat?) and Soap and Glory's Hand Food.

Chanel Bronze Universel

This is my favorite product...ever! I fake tan often but because of moisturizers and cleansers it doesn't seem to stick to my face. I use this product to help match my face and body.

This bronzer is a odd consistency, similar to a cream blusher like Topshops but firmer. I use a powder type brush to apply it (currently an inexpensive cosmopolitan one as it needs cleaned regularly anyway or it is poor).  It blends seamlessly, stays all day (when set lightly with powder) and can be worn alone, over or under foundation. Admittedly it does take a few tries to get right as I've personally not came across any product similar to this. My skin is dry and I keep it well moisturised, how this product would fair on oily skin I'm unsure. I'd definitely recommend asking for a sample.

Being Chanel this isn't the cheapest product - it retails in Debenhams for around £30, but this is my third tub and I've used this product nearly everyday for the last 2 1/2 years.

This particular tub was purchased around November 2011 and you can see I still have the majority left.

As this is a cream/gel product brush hairs do get caught in this but it doesn't affect the product and as long as you're using clean brushes, sanitary wise, this shouldn't be a problem what-so-ever.

Here is a quick swatch. On the left rubbed in and on the right a swipe just applied with a finger.

Another thing is there is only one shade. I think Chanel are really missing a trick by only having the one.

For me this is a 10/10 product and the only Chanel product I've been wowed by, I love it!

MUA Haul

Recently I ordered some MUA goodies from Superdrug online that aren't available from my local Superdrug and I've finally got round to doing a little swatch review (as you'll be able see I've already gotten into these!).

Pic heavy so please read after the cut...

A little wish list....

A few of the things I am lusting over....

Topshop make-up bag £15
I fancy a new make-up bag and this one is beaut! Still loving my £3 Primark one but after seeing this I keep thinking about it ... the pale colour puts me off slightly though!
L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream £18.50
I've wanted this for along time but two things - first, the price. Two of my favorites are cheaper - Hand Food by Soap and Glory costs only £5 and Burt's Bees Almond Milk Hand Cream around £10. And secondly, I have never ending supply of hand cream so it would be pretty frivolous for me to purchase this. One day though :(!

Xen-Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe Weekly Self-Tan with Scent Secure £29.70
This will be the next fake tan I purchase! As soon as I run out of my Famous Dave's Moisture Tan (which I've grown to adore!). I own Xen-Tan in dark but the sound of Ultra-Dark excites me!

Urban Decay All Nighter XL make-up setting spray £23
I've never owned a setting spray but I feel like I would benefit from this product during work? I'm unsure, is it worth the money?
